Funding announced for care homes providing nursing

The Department of Health and Social Care has announced increased funding for care homes providing nursing.

The rate paid to care homes for NHS-funded nursing care (FNC) is to rise by 5 per cent for 2023 to 2024. This means that the standard weekly rate per person eligible for FNC will increase from £209.19 to £219.71 from 1 April 2023. For the higher rate, it will increase from £287.78 to £302.25.

Up to £7.5 billion in additional funding will be available over two years to support adult social care and discharge - with up to £2.8 billion available in 2023 to 2024 and up to £4.7 billion in 2024 to 2025.
