Cold weather alert Level 3 issued

The Met Office has issued a Level 3 Cold Weather Action alert for parts of England.

According to the alert, there is a 90 per cent probability of severe cold weather and icy conditions between 6pm on Wednesday 7 December and 9 am on Monday 12 December.

The cold weather could increase health risks to vulnerable patients, as well as disrupt the delivery of services.

Healthcare workers are reminded to refer to the national Cold Weather Plan and the Trust's emergency plan for appropriate preventive action.

Very cold nights are expected, with widespread frost and a risk of icy patches.

The public is asked to look out for vulnerable family and friends. It is also recommended to maintain indoor air temperatures at 18°C and avoid exposing yourself to cold or icy weather.
