A new guide to social care and support has been released on the NHS website to provide guidance to people who may need social care, as well as their families and carers.
The guide provides clear information about social care to help people understand their options and where to go if they need help, and has been written by experts and extensively tested with users.
Councils, NHS organisations and care providers can signpost people to the information and reuse it on their own websites through a free syndication service which pulls up-to-date content directly from nhs.uk onto their website or mobile application.
James Higgott, responsible for the care and support guide at NHS Digital, said: “When researching this project, it was clear that people were coming to the NHS website to try and find trusted advice on social care and support, so we knew there was a need for a central resource to provide national information about the options they have and to direct them to the people who can help them.
“Councils and the social care sector hold a wealth of advice on local services available to people who may need them, so it was really important that we work closely with them. This new guide is a great example of how we’re bringing health and social care together.”

UK Building Regulations highlight toxic gas and smoke from layers of paint built up over multiple redecorations as a major cause of permanent ill health or death in a building fire.
Their concern rose with discovery the flame retardant paints most widely used paint along escape routes have been ones which to this day counter-productively use emission of heavy toxic gas to smother flames which rapidly spread along walls if layers of paint delaminate in a fire.
