Breathe Energy has announced the completion of work to deliver energy savings through an Energy Performance Contract agreed with Bolton NHS Foundation Trust estate in 2015.
The completed project has seen a £6.3 million investment in the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust estate at the Royal Bolton Hospital with an Energy Performance Contract that will yield guaranteed savings of over £0.8 million per annum. This will also see the reduction of Bolton NHS carbon emissions by 34 per cent.
Savings have been achieved by removing the existing coal boilers and replacing them with a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant; a new energy efficient boiler; chiller replacement; Building Management System modifications, calorifier replacement with plate heat exchangers, faulty steam trap replacement; water borehole installation and external lighting replacement.
Stephen Tyldsley, managing sirector, Integrated Facilities Management Bolton Ltd: "The work Breathe Energy has done on this project brings significant energy saving investments to the trust's estate. This investment also greatly enhances the trust's ability to reduce its CO₂ emissions and energy consumption."
