Health Committee seeks clarity on Brexit transition

The Chair of the Commons Health Committee has written to the Jeremy Hunt to stress the urgent need for clarity on the transitional period after Brexit.

Sarah Wollaston has urged the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to provide clarity on the government’s contingency planning to protect patients, NHS services and the UK's life science industry.

According to the committee, patient care is at risk of being compromised in the event of a disorderly Brexit, and the European Commission should set out how it will protect the interests of patients in the event of a no-deal.
