Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT) has received national recognition at the Public Sector UK Paperless Awards.
The trust’s Electronic Discharge Notification Project (EDN) was one of five finalists from across the UK in the ‘Paperless Project of the Year’ category and won the main sponsor prize from Wacom Clipboard.
The EDN Project gives information about a patient’s hospital care to the GP’s patient record system and has greatly improved both patient experience and care quality. It was shortlisted along with four others.
As the winner of the sponsor prize the trust will receive £5,000 of information technology equipment from Wacom Clipboard.
The awards, hosted by Gov News Direct and specifically by comedian Ed Byrne, recognised celebrate and reward exceptional progress towards the goal of becoming a paperless environment.
In April 2017, KMPT was rated Outstanding for caring and Good overall by the CQC.
Les Manley, director of IT, said: “We are delighted that the team’s hard work has won national recognition and we are looking forward to trying out the new electronic clipboards generously donated by Wacom.”
Mark Hoole, Public Sector Specialist at Wacom, said: “Congratulations to the trust for winning our sponsor prize and we look forward to working with the team.”
