Members of the Unite union employed by contractor Serco and working at Barts Health are planning to take strike action soon.
There is to be a seven day strike by members of the union following a vote in favour of industrial action. More than 700 cleaners, security guards, catering staff and porters are taking part in the strike.
Serco employees provide soft facilities services to Barts Health NHS Trust. They plan to strike from Tuesday 11 July until Tuesday 18 July following a dispute with their employer.
Barts Health states that it has been working closely with both Serco employees and their employer to find a resolution and seek a solution.
Plans are in place to minimise any disruption caused and to keep patients safe. All patient care will continue.
