Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust must make improvements

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has been told it must make improvement to its services, following a warning notice by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The trust has been placed in special measures since 2015 and said the CQC expects improvements to be made by 10 March.

According to reports, the CQC is likely to recommend appointing a trust special administrator to take over running the trust's three hospitals to help increase the quality of services.

A spokesperson for the trust, which runs Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre and Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, said the section 29A warning letter from the CQC was received on Friday 27 January.

Concerns raised about the trust related to all three main hospital sites and with issues focused around patient safety, compliance and governance.

In the message to staff, the trust said: "As staff we must all be held accountable for our actions."
