A new app, Babee on Board, has launched in the UK, aimed at helping pregnant women acquire seats on public transport.
The app consists of two companion apps that communicate via Bluetooth and allows pregnant women travelling to send a signal alerting people nearby with the app that they are in need of a seat.
The app containing the alert button costs £3.99.
Hew Leith, chief executive of 10X, the British innovation consultancy behind the app, explained: "We would rather give it away for free but we need to ensure there's a barrier so people don't download it for free and troll those around them.
“We are donating 100 per cent of the profits to charity."
Elizabeth Duff, senior policy adviser at the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), said: "Anything that helps women with a ‘baby on board’ to have a more comfortable journey can only be a good thing."

UK Building Regulations highlight toxic gas and smoke from layers of paint built up over multiple redecorations as a major cause of permanent ill health or death in a building fire.
Their concern rose with discovery the flame retardant paints most widely used paint along escape routes have been ones which to this day counter-productively use emission of heavy toxic gas to smother flames which rapidly spread along walls if layers of paint delaminate in a fire.
