Scottish government legislation is expected, directing a raise in the minimum price of alcohol in Scotland.
The Court Session is expected to on a challenge which has been pursued by the Scottish Whiskey Association (SWA).
If introduced, the charge will rise to 50p per unit.
The Scottish government, health professionals, police, alcohol charities and some members of the drinks industry believe minimum pricing would help address reduce the number of people in Scotland who have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol.
However, the SWA has argued minimum pricing would discriminate against poorer drinkers, and was beyond the power of the Scottish government.
The Court is due to consider whether the infringement of trade law is justified by the benefits to public health, and if there is another way those benefits could be achieved.
