Jeremy Hunt refuses to rule out PM bid

Health secretary Jeremy Hunt has admitted that he is 'seriously considering' running for Prime Minister on a ticket pledging a second Brexit vote.

Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Hunt, a supporter of the Remain campaign, flirted around the topic, explaining the need to set out an argument for the nation’s next steps, but refused to rule out the possibility of putting himself forward before the 30th deadline for nominations.

Hunt has experienced a vast amount of public unrest following a tumultuous year for the Department of Health, in which disputes over junior doctors contacts have triggered strikes. Following discussions in April, Hunt warned that Health Secretary would most likely be his last ‘big job in politics’ as doctors took to the picket lines.
