There has been a 5.6 per cent increase in the number of frontline NHS healthcare workers receiving their flu vaccine, compared to the same period last season.
The figures, released by Public Health England, reveal that 437,720 frontline staff received their flu vaccination from 1 September 2017 to 31 October 2017, accounting for 46 per cent of all eligible healthcare workers in England.
The top five most improved trusts for vaccine uptake are: Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (45.9 per cent improvement); The Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (32.8 per cent); Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (32.3 per cent); Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust (30.6 per cent); and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (29.9 per cent).
