NHS Property Services has announced that NHS Open Space is set to further grow its portfolio of properties in January 2022 with an additional batch of 40 new sites.
Developed by NHS Property Services, the programme enables the flexible booking of sessional space across the NHS estate. Services can hire clinical and non-clinical spaces – ranging from examination rooms to offices – as and when they need it.
The NHS Open Space community has reached over 107,000 bookings through the platform since May 2019, accounting for over 655,000 hours of vital service delivery to patients and communities.
Welcoming new services into our sites, the next phase of properties joining in January will continue to provide greater flexibility and choice, while making much more efficient use of the estate and minimising vacant or underused space.
Chris King, Principal Strategic Asset Manager at NHS Property Services, said: "With this expansion we hope to further grow our community of over 2,950 unique users, using our flexible booking system to make better use of NHS spaces and offer communities a wider range of services from their local NHS hubs."

UK Building Regulations highlight toxic gas and smoke from layers of paint built up over multiple redecorations as a major cause of permanent ill health or death in a building fire.
