MMR1 vaccine target met for first time

The number of eligible children receiving their first dose of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine (MMR1) by the age of five has met the World Health Organisation target of 95 per cent for the first time in England.

NHS Digital statistics reveal that the proportion receiving the vaccine has increased over the last decade, with coverage up to 95.0 per cent in 2016-17 compared with 94.8 per cent for 2015-16.

The Childhood Vaccination Coverage Statistics 2016-17 covers all figures for routine childhood vaccinations, which are offered to all children up to the age of five.
