Information for patients has been recognised by the British Medical Association (BMA) as part of their annual Patient Information Awards.
The BMA hosted their annual Patient Information Awards which recognises and encourages excellence in the creation of information for patients.
All five entries from teams at Guy’s and St Thomas’ were recognised by the award.
Films ‘Pre-assessment and operations: what to expect at Evelina London’ were awarded ‘runner up’ in the special award Information Produced by NHS Trusts and shortlisted for the Information for Children award.
‘Could you have Fibroids?’ booklet and video were shortlisted in the award for Information Produced by NHS Trusts.
The other three entries were ‘highly commended’: ‘Keeping safe: managing suicidal thoughts’ leaflet, a series of booklets created in collaboration with a student looking for a new way to provide patients with medical information about facial prosthetics, and ‘The Childhood Stroke Handbook’.
