Pulse has reported that blueprints for the future of the NHS suggest that £1.2 billion is set to be spent on boosting primary care.
The sustainability and transformation plans (STPs) found that 14 have proposed investment to support the GP Forward View, totalling £394 million. Pulse’ analysis indicated that this figure extrapolated across the whole of England would come to almost £1.2 billion.
The Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and Sussex and East Surrey STPs identified the greatest investment in the Forward View, at £71.5 million and £51 million respectively, with the former specifying delivery of seven-day access, extending the primary care team and offering more specialist care in primary care settings.
However, the report maintained that other than this, there is little detail about how the investment will be used. This information is expected to be part of the primary care strategies CCGs had to submit to NHS England by 23 December.

UK Building Regulations highlight toxic gas and smoke from layers of paint built up over multiple redecorations as a major cause of permanent ill health or death in a building fire.
