Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust has been instructed to improve the safety of two services at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.
Despite recognising certain improvements, the CQC found further improvements were needed in the safety of both urgent and emergency services. This includes ensuring patient records are accurate and complete, that the tools used to manage risk are used and recorded and that staff working with children complete mandatory safeguarding training appropriate to their role.
