NHS England launches consultation on specialised commissioning

NHS England has launched a consultation on a proposed method to support investment decisions in specialised commissioning.

Each year NHS England deals with a significant number of proposals for investment in new drugs, medical devices or interventions for use by specialised services.

The consultation seeks opinions on the decision making process, with the aim of creating a more transparent system, helping NHS England to prioritise the funding available for new investments each year.

Views are being collected on an online survey, which will run until 11 May 2016. Two webinars will run in conjunction with the consultation, on Monday 18 April and Tuesday 19 April, as well as a face to face event on Wednesday 4 May.
