Call for submissions into overseas-visitor charging review
The government is reviewing the impact of changes to regulations for recovering the cost of treating overseas visitors, and is calling for submissions.
The way the NHS charges overseas visitors for NHS hospital care changed in 2017 and the Department of Health has been evaluating the impact of these changes on upfront charging, amending patient records, community services and non-NHS providers.
This review is focusing on the impact of the new regulations on vulnerable groups – such as those with protected characteristics, and how negative effects can be addressed.
