An initial vaccination will be given when the infant is two months old, and will be followed by two further injections at later dates. Meningitis B vaccinations will also be added to the national immunisation programme in Wales alongside other routine vaccinations that GPs are already required to provide.

The injection follows a recommendation by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation last year, and will be provided by manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline.
