Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (DCH) and Interserve Prime (IP) have announced a new partnership to enable the strategic transformation of the Dorchester hospital estate.
IP will work with DCH in the 10-year agreement to develop and deliver its estate strategy and, in line with Dorset’s Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP), support its vision to be at the heart of an integrated, patient-centred system.
Dorset is one of eight areas nationally taking the step to become an Accountable Care System, an ‘evolved’ version of an STP which will integrate care at a local level.
The immediate focus of the partnership will be the development of a site-wide masterplan in consultation with health and care system partners and local stakeholders. The masterplan will enable the Trust to develop new facilities, deliver its clinical aspirations and create a more hospitable environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Nick Johnson, director of strategy and business development at DCH, said: “This partnership will help us to retain and maximise the value of our estate and develop the site in line with the wider health and care system plans in Dorset and we are looking forward to working with Interserve Prime.”
Leighton Chumbley, director at Interserve Prime, said: “We are very excited to have been appointed to work with Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on its future estate plans. Through our combined development and commercial expertise, we are looking forward to supporting the Trust in achieving its long and short-term objectives through the strategic transformation of the hospital estate.”

UK Building Regulations highlight toxic gas and smoke from layers of paint built up over multiple redecorations as a major cause of permanent ill health or death in a building fire.
Their concern rose with discovery the flame retardant paints most widely used paint along escape routes have been ones which to this day counter-productively use emission of heavy toxic gas to smother flames which rapidly spread along walls if layers of paint delaminate in a fire.
