£5 million of cuts threatening care

Plans to meet demanding NHS budget controls could see waiting times extended and cancer diagnostics cut.

Recent reports have shown that South Gloucestershire CCG has planned £5 million of extra cuts, with the department’s facing the cuts being cancer diagnostics, neurological rehabilitation and children’s continuing care.

Holly Maltby, a campaigner for 38 Degrees, who revealed the plans through a Freedom of Information request, said: “These plans shed light on just how seriously patient care in South Gloucestershire could be affected.”
