The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has announced the appointment of Dr Charles Alessi and Bruce Steinberg to their executive team with the aim of transforming health through technology.
Appointed as chief clinical officer and managing director respectively, Alessi and Steinberg will continue the work being done to foster innovation and sustainable transformation of health on a global scale, using their clinical expertise to enhance the industry ahead through impactful thought leadership programmes, while developing the breadth and reach of its evaluation tools - starting with the established Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM).
Alessi said of his appointment: “Health and care systems all around the world face enormous challenges to speed up deployment of digital technologies and start extracting insights from the data they hold to drive sustainable transformation, fit for the future, for better care. I am delighted to be joining HIMSS to support colleagues in spearheading our mission and supporting growth in the organisation’s clinical membership globally.”
Sternberg said: “This is a crucial time in healthcare and it is absolutely vital to continue leading the dialogue globally, and collaborate with our partners, members, and the wider industry. I am excited to be joining the organisation and, with the recent addition of Health 2.0 and Healthbox, I am sure we will continue to advance our mission and support the transformation of the health and care ecosystem on the international stage.”
