The Department of Health and Social Care has revealed that digital and data specialists from NHSX will team up with NHS England’s cancer and mental health national policy teams.
The digital experts, who will help clinicians and policymakers improve patient experience through technology, will support teams by: making it easier for patients to access services through smartphones; giving clinicians access to the relevant diagnostic information about a patient; and making it easier to collect and use health data which can benefit research and patients.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said: “NHSX is one of the most exciting things happening in the UK. It’s cutting edge, it’s mission driven and it’s about harnessing the best. This is just the beginning of the tech revolution, building on our NHS Long Term Plan to create leading health and care service – for us all.”
If successful, the move will be rolled out more widely across the NHS.

UK Building Regulations highlight toxic gas and smoke from layers of paint built up over multiple redecorations as a major cause of permanent ill health or death in a building fire.
