According to statistics from NHS Digital, there have now been more than 30 million sign ups for the NHS app. Seven million of those sign ups came in 2022.
Launched four years ago, the app was one of the most popular free health apps of 2022. The target of having 68 per cent of people registered with the app by March 2023 has already been met.
Simon Bolton, Interim Chief Executive at NHS Digital, said: “The NHS App continues to change the way people in England access healthcare services. Since it was launched four years ago, millions of people have used it to book GP appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view GP records.
“We’ve also added new features to the app to help people manage hospital appointments, book Covid vaccinations and receive messages from GPs. The NHS App is a great example of how technology can be used to help people take control of their healthcare and access NHS services quickly and easily.”
Last year, 1.7 million GP appointments were booked through the app and 22 million repeat prescriptions were ordered.
New features will be added to the app in 2023, including flu vaccine booking and access to hospital correspondence, such as pre-consultation questionnaires.

UK Building Regulations highlight toxic gas and smoke from layers of paint built up over multiple redecorations as a major cause of permanent ill health or death in a building fire.
Their concern rose with discovery the flame retardant paints most widely used paint along escape routes have been ones which to this day counter-productively use emission of heavy toxic gas to smother flames which rapidly spread along walls if layers of paint delaminate in a fire.
