The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has announced that a new ‘Pay on Invoice’ method has been introduced for paying medicines licenses, clinical trials and clinical investigations.
From 1 April those making applications will no longer need to attach proof of payment which it is hoped will streamline the payment process, making it simpler, easier and quicker.
According to a statement for the MHRA, the benefits of the new process include removing the need to work out complex fees and reducing the chance of applications being rejected for incorrect payment details. Additionally the simplified payment process should result in fewer delays and make it easier for companies to reconcile financial records and accounts.
Overall the process is aimed at saving companies time and money.
Richard Humphreys, MHRA’s deputy director of Finance said: “We have listened to our customers and launched this new project in order to make the process of payment much easier and quicker.
“We hope the new process will reduce the regulatory burden and reduce unnecessary delays.
“As with everything we do, we welcome your feedback.”

UK Building Regulations highlight toxic gas and smoke from layers of paint built up over multiple redecorations as a major cause of permanent ill health or death in a building fire.
Their concern rose with discovery the flame retardant paints most widely used paint along escape routes have been ones which to this day counter-productively use emission of heavy toxic gas to smother flames which rapidly spread along walls if layers of paint delaminate in a fire.
